these are the new gloves from the kaliaaer range. The 2008 season will see numerous designs from the Kaliaaer range. Please keep posted to TGB for details and previews. You can pre-order the gloves over at www.thegoalkeeperco.com
Good work on this range, they all look good. In my opinion, the flourescent colors look a bit 90's, but there's nothing wrong with that!
Goalkeeping is not just a position on the field, it is a way of life, it is an attitude on and off the field.
Hey there, I really like the look of these, look very original and something I'd like to try.
Quick question though, do you have any pictures on the palm or the front of the glove, the backhand looks good but I think I'd need to see what the front looks like too !
If thats all good I will be ordering up very soon
cheers mate

i like the first pair, though personally i'm not too keen on the bright colours.
These look good, especially the bottom one. I would like to see pics of the palm though.
Yeah they all look good, same as everyone else i would like to see the palms aswell.

Hey, just received this email from nick at thegoalkeeperco.com who ive been talking to about these gloves, check em out
-- Hi Dan!
Been a bit of a wait for you - sorry about that. We got the Kaliaaer gloves today - and they're all available now.
In short, I can wholeheartedly and excitedly endorse the gloves as top quality gloves to rival other top brands. I haven't played in them yet but the latex foam seems top quality, and importantly the gloves are very well cut and constructed. There's nice technical detail in all the models: the Shok Lock is a pretty beastly finger protection glove, really well padded and solid, and excellently put together. The design is really unique, with the jagged shapes throughout the glove, including the backhand foam and the wrist strap closure and you see this better in the flesh. You asked about performance - the first two things I would personally assess, foam quality and cut, are great. We certainly see inferior quality gloves selling for more than this on a regular basis. I would want to qualify this with small specific comments on particular models, but if you're interested in any in particular then let me know and I'll give further details.
The Shok Lock is possibly my favourite at this stage... But the TF and 3GD glove are very close behind. They're also both very well put together - much better than you see with the images currently on our site, which we'll be updating this week or next. Between those two I think the 3DG might edge it for me, because it has a more padded backhand than the TF glove, and I prefer that. The TF glove has a fairly light backhand, but also features internal latex, which obviously gives the gloves a very different feel on the hands (which I personally like). --

the flourescent colours remind me of the highlighter pens i used to have in my pencil case at school lol like them tho the gloves
I received delivery today of the Kaliaaer Shok Lock gloves in a 9, ordered Monday night received this morning @ work, exceptional service so far from Nick and replies to any queries in super fast time, in fact could have chatted all day to him but had to do some work today! He has given me permission to post some pictures of the gloves on the forum as the one's on the web site are limited and I know some members were showing an interest. So here you are:
Great looking glove !
Would you say to go up a full size on them mate ?
Cheers for posting !

I would have to say no, they are pretty much true to size and this is a slight problem for me as I'm an 8.5 usually in a roll. I got a 9 and I could probably just get away with them but for those with full sizes you can order your normal size.
whats the fit like when you remove the spines ev?
cardiffkeeper: whats the fit like when you remove the spines ev?
I would compare the fit identical to the Selsport Wrappa Protect, you could very easily wear these without the spines and feel no ill effect ie. baggieness that you sometimes get with other makes. With them in they are solid and you feel that and the spines are very good not like Reusch or Sells but still very good.
I can only echo Nick's statements on the quality of the gloves from a 1st impression, construction is superb for a new player to the market and you can tell that a lot of work has gone into getting the glove just right from the off. Latex echo's that of HO's early Kontakt foam on the backhand yet not on the palm which for me personally is a good thing. As with many lesser brands a good couple of pre-washes would be necessary to remove the full amount of chemicals used in the production of the gloves and it wouldn't be any different for these but only because of the different quality of latex used for the backhand than that of the actual palm which seems a bit strange but a positive if you catch my drift, the palms have been protected with a plastic film but underneath is a SS 4mm latex which no doubt is quality after a pre-wash.
Spine system is very good again a bit similiar to HO's but more solid and would give ample protection and after a short while become more flexible, the pouch they are situated in is a very good concept where they are also held in place by a small looped piece of material and therefore very little chance if any of them moving around the glove. Material used in construction is that of a fleece lined backhand ideal for colder conditions and gives it a pro feel. Sizing is spot on 9 would need a 9 but unfortunately if your a half size they may not be snug enough to wear, Kaliaaer have plans to do half sizes but that is a few months off at least.
Very comfortable on the hand and I feel identical to the Selsport Wrappa Protect (I should now as I have a pair) and for those looking for a well padded or cushioned FP glove this is an ideal player for those requiring a solid match or training Roll Finger Protection Glove at a decent price. When I received them this morning I obviously inspected the FP system and I recalled that the description on the web site did also mention thumb protection and does on the little leaflet attached to the gloves but there weren't any in the flesh in the gloves, I queried with Nick and it would seem that a late amendment had been made to the gloves where they now do not have the FP in the thumb but I did notice that FP could be placed in the thumb should you have any spare spines lying around.
You may notice from the pictures what would appear to be 2 little clear holes in 2 of the fingers on the glove, these are in fact 2 little gel pads, not sure what purpose they serve as they are in the wrong place to offer any positive effect for say punching but are a good little addition.
Nick's service has been 2nd to none and is very helpful and is very customer focussed and as an active keeper wants to bring quality and great service to the Goalkeeping community that sometimes lacks from other retailers, it's early days but so far so good and looking forward to many more transactions in the future, they come highly recommended.
