Certainley. These boots sure would do for us goalkeepers, and I do think that the larger "sweet spot" would increase distance, placement, etc.

Just looking at the Concave website, it looks like they have the boots in 3 different models (much like the Adidas Predator Range, and some of Nikes boots, eg Lasers). The top model looks like the PT +, the middle model is the PT1 and the value model is the PT Midi. Anybody know when Concave will bring out the 2 lower models, if so, where?

Myself, I went to Melbourne Victory vs Newcastle Jets game on Friday the 29th, where our own Michael Theoklitos wears the Concave boots for Melbourne, as im sure many would know. Having a look at his footwear, it seemed he was wearing some kind of really bright white concave boots(looked like the PT+), unlike the old silver and black ones he used to wear. To my point, his goal-kicks, and one drop kick he did preform, as well as the back passes, his kicking was top notch, making easily over half way every single time, and pinpoint accuracy (mostly to Allsopp, the tall striker).

They look great, and do look like they are no gimmick, as I have seen them in person before, and look really good. Certainly hope they do make it into Australian Sports shops, would be really happy to give it a go.

Just got a pair of the Concave PT1's. I'll try to keep you all updated on how they go. The fit is very good for me. Average width, so you super wide footed people probably wouldn't like these much. The sweet spot surely is different from anything I've seen, but I can definitely see how it could help with power. I have training tomorrow so we will see how this goes.

Checking w/the JJB website, it seems Concaves are only sold in whole sizes?  Does anyone know if they come out in 1/2 sizes as well?

I've tried to buy size 9.5 boots from a JJB store before and they only stock full sizes in all makes.

I think I might have to give these a try...

Dida still needs a team! lol

Why be negative when you can be Positive? Beats me!

I just ordered the silver and black PT-1's, they should be here around Wednesday or Thursday, Pictures and first impressions as soon as they arrive.

i had a look at them in JJB and didn't like them. there's a big lump of plastic over where the tongue should be - looks like someone's cut a ribena carton in half and stuck it to the boot.

at £99, they're not for me.

I'd be worried about the durability of these.  As soon as someone sticks their studs anywhere near the top of your boot, it's going to disintegrate, right?

no, it seems pretty durable. i likened it to a ribena carton for the shape, but it's made of pretty solid (and kinda heavy) plastic.

I agree with Cardiff. Had a chance to have a good look in JJB over the weekend. They just seem heavy to me as I like my World Cups. Appreciate Cardiffs comparison to the carton, just seemed too bulky to me for me to consider them.

But I applaud the innovation of this boot technology and can only see them getting better as the range is improved over the years.

They came in on Wednesday. I have used them in one practice so far, goals were close so I didn't play many long with my feet. They will definitely take some getting used to, but I have a feeling accuracy will be brilliant once I get used to the cover. I took some goalkicks, probably with 80% effort, and they went as far as my 100%'s normally do. You can barely feel the ball fly off of them. I'm hopefully going to make it out to the field with them this weekend and give them some accuracy testing.

I do have one complaint so far though, the lacing system makes it hard to get them tight with the laces. The upside, however, is that they offer a very good, very true fit, so they are relatively tight even without laces tied.
