You're still going to sweat. In fact you'll sweat when it's in the 50s, maybe even the 40s, so it will still help.

There is good science to show that compression gear helps overall performance too, not just sweat/heat management.

Thanks Justin, you always sweat, but I wanted to know if the purchase would still be worth it since the summer is almost over. Thanks for the article as well, I was looking for something like it.

Last question guys (sorry for the bump), what's the rule of thumb when choosing the correct size? Wear the size you normally wear, or wear a size smaller?

With Nike Pro you wear your normal size.

Dida still needs a team! lol

Why be negative when you can be Positive? Beats me!

Keepers are criticised and praised, its the keepers choice to decide what to listen to.

In my part of Florida, summer ends around Nov 15 and starts again March 1st.Wink

Seriously though, this stuff can get a tad expensive. You can live without it, but it's nice stuff to have if you can get one or two pieces. I make do with one sleeveless compression top. I just have to do laundry a lot.

I have a few sleeveless versions of Nike Pro and several slide shorts as you can't have enough of them IMO.  For colder weather I'll step up to a long sleeve version but I do have a couple SS ones as well.  You would think that the compression would cause the short sleeve versions to roll up but I have never had that problem.  Most brands use a flat hem to make sure the sleeve doesn't roll up and it also helps keep it in place.

Well.... after wearing my UA Heat Gear sleeveless compression shirt and Nike compression undershorts for about 3-4 times, I must say that I'm a believer! I've felt a whole lot less miserable then I usually do standing there in the intense sun with the blasted humidty. $50 is pretty step for a full pair (shorts & shirt), but next time I'll just buy the "what company is this?" branded ones.

dude $50 is nothing, over here in the uk we'd pay $50 for the shirt and another £50 for the shorts! and if you want the Skins brand, they're $100 a piece.

my favourite base layers are canterbury ones, but i use mcdavid undershorts

Defo buy it mate - i've got a couple of underarmour tops - and one nike - there all just as good as one another and really keep you alot cooler. I've worn them in the UK and in Aus and regardless of what the weather may be like it keeps you cool and feeling alot less 'sweaty'

Haven't tried the canterbury stuff yet but if anyone wants to send some I will wear it then review it Stick out tongue

If that was the case in the US, I wouldn't even consider undershirts/shorts at all! Why don't you guys scavenge our online shops and eBay? You guys could probably buy everything with the abysmal exchange rate! Stick out tongue
