I voted for Iker, i think he had a good solid tournament.

I loved the was he wanted to dominate his box, which was shown in the final and he did very well. Event though he didn't have a shot to save in the final!

I voted for Iker as well, why he isnt mentionned more when the regular 'best in world' conversation comes up is beyond me.

I went for Van der sar purely because I only saw cassilas play 1 game so its comment. I would go for Buffon because he pulled of some great saves but he was shaky at other times. So I went for van der sat for his consistency and solidness (I think i just made that word up lol)!

Dida still needs a team! lol

Why be negative when you can be Positive? Beats me!

I also voted for Iker, think he was fabulous throughout the tournament.

He also exudes confidence and has a calming effect on the defence,

he isn't called Saint Iker for nothing ;-)

 Have to vote for Iker.

May not have seen the most action but he was sharp from the begining to the end of everygame, he made a great save late against russia, and some great saves against italy late in the game as well. His command of his box was great his distrubution was great.  Other keepers had some flashy saves but for me he was the best. VDS had a very good tourney as well. Buffon also had his moments but those moments were both good and bad.

Casillas was great, as was Lobont, Akinfeev, and Demeril. However I went for VDS. He didn't win the tournament, but in terms of pure performance and quality of saves, for me he was the best. There were critical moments against both Italy and France when the games were still in the balance and VDS made a quality save or two. And only he kept the Russians from rampaging. Casillas seems the logical choice, and I can certainly understand why most people are going for him.

I went with Akinfeev.  he made some great saves and even though Spain took it to him non of the goals scored were his fault.  Iker did very well but I just didn't feel like he had to do a whole lot through the tournament.  He had a great game against Italy but he really wasn't that busy in the final.

I wanted to vote Bogdan Lobont but alast it was EVDS who I think should get the award.

Boruc had a good tournatment as well.

My vote went to Boruc. His performances kept Poland in their matches. Lobont was solid as well, as was Casillas, but Boruc had the biggest influence on his team.

Thought about voting twice because I feel two should win this.  First Iker bc he won it all and at that level, isn't that all that matters???  I also feel he was consistant with what he had to do all tourny.  Second, Edwin.  I think he was even more consistant all tourny.  He makes everything look simple like a quality gk should.  He also keep the Dutch in there final game until the OT.  But what do I know? haha

Liviu, good point about Boruc, he's another keeper who did his reputation a lot of good. Overall a really good tournament for keepers.

just goes to show how little the so called 'experts' know - 1 penalty save and buffon despite a mediocre tournament is included...

Buffon did make some good saves but I agree with Bokkeuk, he shouldn't be included. I liked the look of Volkan but obviously because of his red card that affected his chances..

Dida still needs a team! lol
