CUT: Flat Palm

FIT: I was in France on holiday and there was a footy pitch there and i didn't take any gloves with me so i bought these. I brought a size 7 which are a fairly good fit except the fingers are a bit long.

LATEX:

3mm stripe latex

FEATURES: Hard ground latex.

Seems to have some sort fleecy inside

Striped texture on palm.

AVAILABILITY: Ive seen them on pro direct and a couple shops in France. It seems that there aren't really any shops in the UK which sell them.

PRICE: A very good £15 Although i brought them for about 12 euros

Review:

I have used them about 10 times on astro turf, which i frequently slide along palms down on, and there is not noticeable tears in the palm. The grip is very good in dry conditions, but average when rainy as it did slip out of my hands a few times.

DURABILITY:  Fantastic! These gloves are great and will probably last me a long long long time.

SUMMARY: These gloves are excellent except for one small issue which is that the strap does not give a tight enough fit round my wrist.

PROS: Price is great, durability and grip

CONS: The wrist strap could be better

RATINGS:

Dry: 4.5

Wet: 2.5

Durability: 5

Fit: 4

Cosmetics: 4 The gold trim goes well with the white Now 5 painted the Janot style

Value: 5

Overall: 4.5

I painted the gloves to look like a pair of Janot's gloves changed it abit though.

Nice review props - glad they worked out for you. I do like the Chimera cut. For me, it's the only cut Uhlsport have got right in the last few years.

And believe it or not, Uhlsport USA decided not to bring the Chimera style in with their US line for Fall '08.

I have just been given a pair of SMU Chimera Absolutgrip roll finger (same blue colourway as the flat palm) by a mate who is contracted to Uhlsport in Ireland and can confirm that the cut is superb. Your hands seem to automatically be in perfect position when catching.
I found that the bandage wrist entry to be extremely tight but once i got my fat hands into the glove they were extremely comfortable. I am not convinced by Absolutgrip latex though (bad experiences in the past) but as i didn't have to part with any cash (something i am very reluctant to do) i suppose i shouldnt complain.

Its not where your from, its where your at!

I used paints from the games workshop (warhammer 40k ect.) but i guess any water based paints will do

First i painted all but the black (were gold before pianted) bits hawk turquiose and went over the logo in it, then painted the trim black and around and over the logo (i realsied that it was better to to go over the logo in black) then paint the logo pink, or paint it whatever colour you want.

To be honest mate, you've done quite a good job on them!!! That's dedication.

Dida still needs a team! lol

Why be negative when you can be Positive? Beats me!

Keepers are criticised and praised, its the keepers choice to decide what to listen to.

There's no latex on the backhand. Uhl's YCAP is more like textured polyurethane.

If I were to paint the latex though, the palm, would it damage the latex? Wouldn't mind painting my Flat KA's black.

I guess it would depend on the paint, but I have to guess it would hurt the grip. It might be worth trying with an old pair that already has some wear, though.

I think it would depend on the paint water based and new would be alright but it would defo hinder the grip in some way just not as much as some other paints. Also the reason why I say new for the paint is because I have some old paint that after a while it gathers up little bits or whatnot (Im talking like 1 1/2 years for this to happen) so it is harder to paint unless you stir it for a while. So I would paint a pair of old gloves first.

haha great skills on paint workCool In my youth I used to tape over some of the busy Reusch wriststraps, with black or white industrial tape, it worked + looked fine.
