Hi

I'm new to this forum.

I just wanted to know what are your views on this glove. It is from the upcoming 2009 range. http://www.footy-boots.com/reusch-2009-range-world-premiere-4997/

Personally i think it is a very well constructed glove, and the latex system is a good idea. The only thing is that in my opinion i think it would have been much better if it had a neg cut rather than a flat palm.

This development from Reusch can be seen as part of a trend forming over recent seasons, with the increasing popularity of the negative cut goalkeeper glove. Many pro keepers like Van Der Saar and Cech are now wearing negative cut gloves, partly because of their ability to give a more natural ball feel. Although the Reusch Pure Contact goalkeeper glove is still in fact essentially a pre-curved flat cut glove, rather than a fully negative cut glove

They sure look like a negative cut to me from the pics in the article!Tongue Tied

Man I wish Reusch still offered a model with "The Arrow"...

Just saw some vids from WC1994, cool to se the gloves worn by Taffarel, Pagliuca, Campos -can´t beat that design imho

that's what i first tought but if you look closely the two middle fingers are flat palm and the index and small finger are half neg. the article say that they are flat palm and  only the thumb is negative.

Here' s what the article says

This development from Reusch can be seen as part of a trend forming over recent seasons, with the increasing popularity of the negative cut goalkeeper glove. Many pro keepers like Van Der Saar and Cech are now wearing negative cut gloves, partly because of their ability to give a more natural ball feel.Although the Reusch Pure Contact goalkeeper glove is still in fact essentially a pre-curved flat cut glove, rather than a fully negative cut glove, the Cyberstretch fabric aims to continue and develop the ability to give a very close and natural ball feel, by enhancing the sense of contact between the hands and the ball via the gloves.

i think they should have made it a completely neagtive cut glove since their aim was that of increasing contact. But that's just my opinion.

The design and technology might make it worth trying but I bet it will be quite expensive. I agree it should be negative cut and I'm not a fan of the design. I also think they should bring the arrow back. It was simple but it looked great and is alot nicer on the eye than present Reusch gloves.

Edit:  welcome to the site JCD!

Dida still needs a team! lol

Why be negative when you can be Positive? Beats me!

Keepers are criticised and praised, its the keepers choice to decide what to listen to.

I really like the look of those! Might have to buy them! (unless the price is outrageous) Really interested to see what reusch's new latex is like.

Totally agree with you on this one. Loved the "arrow" design. There was no mistaking the manufacturer of these gloves.

The reason I liked the arrow was that it had a "logo".-Very cool and easy noticable branding. I wonder why they skipped it.

Favorite gloves of all time are the matchgloves worn by Pagliuca and taffarel, with the two stars on the fist.. I would love top get my hands in those :)

they should have had the negative seams on the insides of the outer fingers, if that makes sense? as it is it's similar to the uhlsport pro fm / reusch world keeper(?) where the feature on the outsides of the outer fingers doesn't make any difference at all.
