only asking if anybody else on here has any problems with the latex and cuts of the Ho range?????, my mate has recently purchased a few pairs of the Ho mega pro flat palm glove size 10 and he plays semi pro level, he commented on that the palm had become very flaky after very little use during match play, even when the palms had been kept damp. Both gloves have been sent back to Ho to the comment that 'appears fair wear and tear so no refund or exchange will be issued '. He told me that the palm of the gloves were very dirty and dusty as if they had been left on the floor in the factory. He said the stiching quality was very poor and on 2 pairs the strap had came away from the body of the glove, he finds that the glove has been poorly stitched around the pinky area which causes the latex to twist......... personally i was looking into the purchase of a couple of pairs of Ho gloves from a very trusted company of mine but to my dissapointment they no longer stock this glove. I would appreciate your comments on these issues as i feel very reluctant to go ahead with the purchase.
I have a pair of HO mega rolls and have to say I agree about the latex. The durability of this glove was very poor but the grip was top notch!! Overall construction was fine and easily outlasted the palms.
Shame as well cos they are great looking gloves.
Hi Guys,
Hello their Fletch.
We have had problems with some of the styles also with the same problems as above.
We are at the moment talking with HO about the quality and the finish of the gloves.
We have found problems with dirty gloves, these are brand-new out of the packaging but looks as though the factory have left them on a warehouse floor before packaging, as a result of this they have become dirty and dusty.
They are also looking at the latex, there seems to be a problem on some of the mega pro styles, we have stoped selling the Negative Cut and also the Roll Protect Green due to dry and bubbling palms.
This was not a problem at all with the 2007 range, just seems to be some of the new styles for 2008
As soon as i get a response from HO i will post it up.
Kind Regards
Martin
Hi,
So surprise to hear that!
I have some pairs of the HO Mega Pro (2008 model), I have used them for more than 30 days, the glove is excellent, The stitching and latex is great, the grip is top notch.
Never have the same problem!
This seams to be a reaccuring thing with HO every couple years. The first couple gloves I had from them were brilliant and I never had an issue. Then I got the Neo Inside from 2 seasons ago and the palm did the same as described above. Then i gave them a second chance and got another pair and the palm was fantastic. Seam to be very hit or miss with production which I can relate to, but frustrating none the less.
Little bit of an update on the above.
Had HO soccer over last week from Spain. Was great to meet Gerorge and his team, they have had a small problem with a small % of latexs on the gloves, basicly when the latex has been produced the final layer was not fused as it should have been.
What HO have done is to take away all the faulty latex gloves from ourselfs and other spcalist stores. All styles will be replaced and we hope to have full stock again by the end of this week. So alround great news.
The HO spain team were very sorry for any problems caused and their main aim is to to produce the best, and i'm sure going ahead with their own factory this will happen.
Also got the chance to see a new design of the Mega Pro for 2009, looks great, designed with David James imput and his colour ideas which look great.

would have to agree. I gave up on HO long ago cause the latex on the 3 pair I had were poor. Others have had very good luck with them though. Are they still making the gloves in the same factory?
