Guys, I have a keeper at my school who absolutely loves Reusch Gloves, but has asked my on my opinions, where I do not know as much as some people know on here (as I have only used maybe one pair in my keeping past!)

Anyways, he tells me (and that I noted at todays game in my phone) that he "loves" the looks of the Liga, and also likes the Serie A, Bundesliga, etc... but mainly likes (and is a personal liking) in his gloves "feel".

Any suggestions/experiences would be great.

Thanks

i am currently using the serie a x1 as my match glove. i really cant fault them the grip is top notch up there with nikes contact foam. they are extremely comfortable and durability is impressive as well. the ball fall on these is good as is the shock absorbtion. hope this helps.

The two things I'd note about Reusch are that they are extremely well put together gloves, but that you pay for this (i.e. they are on the expensive side for what they are).  The very top end gloves come in at UK£70-80, which is silly money.

Can't comment on the X1 and G1 palms as I've not used them, but the Mega Grip and SSG palms are both very decent.

I agree; they were shocking in the wet. However I found the durability quite good. Also out of all the gloves I have used Reusch are the best made. I have never had a pair split or rip on me. X1 is a very good latex and I would say Mega Grip is average. It has been a whiler since I used Mega Grip though...

Dida still needs a team! lol

Why be negative when you can be Positive? Beats me!

i have used a few pairs of reusch gloves in the past, including the goaliator ortho tec gloves. The finger protection is the best out of all the gloves i have tried hands down, but i find the gloves to be a tad bit bulky and hard to catch a shot with due to the amount of padding the glove has

just thought i would pitch in my two cents worth...

weird you say that

I've had 3 pairs of reusch and 2 of them split. I really don't know why they use the G1 foam on the goaliators! They have the potential to be great gloves but the foam ruins them.

duo pro bowls are my favourite, the new ones are brilliant. perfect fit and shape, and duomega is much better than mega grip.

I found That reusch are a very good Make. Definately have the best finger protection system out there and the bowl cut is very good. But I found the latex not durable and bad in the wet. All keepers know that you need a good latex to do even the simple stuff. I personally think that instead of paying out 50-80 quid for a top end reusch glove when you can spend 50 quid on a good pair of sells gloves that have a great latex and a good guard system.

reusch are terribly over priced, i agree. i might wear them if i was sponsored, but i wouldn't buy them.

I've only had two Reusch gloves, the 05/06 (or 06/07) Ortho-Tecs and a cheaper pair, which model I don't remember. The Ortho-Tecs were utilizing Reusch's old Mega Grip latex which I found to be excellent, but don't take my word for it... as it was my second pair of gloves (the first being a $25 Nike pair). The cheaper pair was using Reusch's SSG latex, which is quite good as well! Sadly the Ortho-Tecs died (caked backhand, dried out latex), which was my fault - I didn't really know "responsible" glove care back then - otherwise they were great gloves.

X1 latex is one of the best foams out there IMHO.

Thanks guys, great information for me to pass on!

He has just told me he is thinking of buying some Reusch Liga's (the blue/white ones), but is still undecided.

Any experiences/info on the SSG grip/Ligas?

Thanks again guys

reusch ssg is a super palm. the sg palm is cheaper but not as grippy, especially when wet. there is very little difference between the reusch ssg and mega grip palms. mega has a slightly higher concentration of natural latex, but in grip terms they are pretty equal. many people find ssg lasts longer in terms of consistancy than mega grip, although i believe mega has gotten a lot better in the last 2 seasons or so.

i love reusch X1, Aqua, duo aqua, mega, duo mega and ssg palms. not too keen on G1, although if you play at a pro level on top quality always damp pithes it does perform pretty well .

i went off reusch for a while but last season i had a few different models and every one was superb. as mentioned before, some models are too expensive for what you get, but their build quality is the best out of everyone for me.

Reusch Seria A are my current match gloves, excellent mittens in all conditions, although I do miss the wrap thumb.

Think they are fairly priced although agree anything over £50, your paying for the emperors new clothes.
