New Beginings...

Well my gk friends it has been a hell of a two weeks.  I am sure by now all of you know that the Crew waived me a few days after we returned from Florida.  This was a total shock to me, but it is behind me now so I will not rehash it all.  If any of you need the details I am sure Chewie would be happy to fill you in.  But for me I am in a great place now and only want to move forward.  I was very excited to get picked up by Toronto FC in the waiver draft this past Monday.  So I flew back down to Florida to meet up with them on Tuesday.  I have been here for almost a week now training with the team.  It is a great bunch of guys.  Everyone gets on well with each other so it has been an easy transition.

The coaching staff is good as well, real players coaches.  Mo(head coach) welcomed me in and simply told me to enjoy myself.  You can tell the boys respect him and will give everything for him.  Bob Gansler (assistant)  is the teacher on the field.  He has so much knowledge of the game and wants to share it with the players.  The gk coach is Carmine,  runs a good session.  He use to be a pro back in the day so he knows what it is about.  Alot of playing and training.  It is a whole new start for me, I am excited to start a new chapter.  Everything is new because it is an expansion team and there is a great buzz about the team.  For me it is a good change.  It feels like I am a rookie again starting out.  I have gotten the fire back in me,  not that I lost it but I have to prove myself all over again to a new team.  Every session starts with the gks with Carmine for at least 30 min.  then back with the team.  That is a nice change because in Columbus we didn't even have a gk coach the first 3 weeks of preseason.  So I am like a kid in a candy store and I am really enjoying my soccer.  Oh and by the way the knee feels great.

Until next time.

I'm very happy for you Jon. However, my joy for you has yet to eclipse my bitterness over your departure from C-bus. I felt you were the spiritual center of that team, seriously. You play with an infectious passion -- without unnecessary grandstanding -- that's a pleasure as fan to watch.

P.S. - I didn't know you were a hockey fan as well. Cripe you are in the Mecca for hockey now. People with prayer rugs used to go to the temple that was Maple Leaf Gardens to worship the Leafs.

Hi Jon,

Good to see it has all turned out good for you.

Just coming back from an injury myself....i think its age!

Also, say hi to the Kiwi boy Andy Boyens for me......Played against him and with him in New Zealand.

He will do well for you guys.

Regards

Ross
