What I want in 2007

Here is what I want to see in 2007:

1. US national team actually hires a high profile foreign coach to take us to the next level.  Bradley will not get it done, and we need a new perspective.  Someone who has a high level of tactical experience, and someone who can draw the best out of  our players.

1. My Columbus Crew actually making it to the playoffs…We have had a miserable run over the last 2 years.  Tons of injuries, questionable player moves, lack of real marketing and promotion.  Tons of guys on the team deserve success, and I am hopeful 2007 will give them that chance.

1. I want to see Fox Soccer Channel bring back Bundesliga,  Dutch Eredivise and Le Championat.  We actually have better luck than most of the world when it comes to football on cable (not pay per view), but we no longer have the privilege of  watching German Bundesliga , Dutch soccer , and the French league, which I really miss. 

1. More choices when it comes to plain old, black boots.  I feel the quality of boots is faltering for anyone who does not have a perfect size D foot.  Companies are going away from leather for synthetics, and color for simplicity. 

1. I want to see a brand new, truly original glove maker.  No rip offs of sells, no Pakistan cheap reproductions…I think there is still a lot of possibilities in the world of Glove crafting, and would like to see an upstart take it to the next level.

1. On the other hand, I want to see Sells, Sondico, One Glove, and all other GK specific companies REALLY stick it to nike and adidas.  I am still not convinced Nike or Adidas gives a rats ass about the consumer, and I KNOW Sells and Sondico do, so Id like to see them kick the big boys straight in the marbles!

1. I want to see stores like Great-Save.com, betweenthesticks.com, keeperstop.com really take it to Eurosport.  I have to admit, I love eurosport, and I have a good relationship with them, but I generally root for the underdog, and want to see the members of this board do well!

1. More Retro stuff!  Adidas has a whole frickin line of kick ass retro based track tops, jerseys, shoes, etc…Hey morons, MAKE SOME GLOVES and GK SHIRTS!!!  They will sell like hotcakes.  If I saw reusch make a re-issue of the Pfaff, or Uhlsport the 034, I would spend HEAPS of cash.

1. A stronger MLS…This year has been the worst in my opinion for the standard of play.  We need to pay our players better, and grow talent instead of relying on the Collegiate ranks to supply players.

1. I want to see TGB take over the online Goalkeeper community.  I think we have the potential to be the biggest most exciting site out there for real Goalkeeper discussion…Good luck to everyone in 2007!!!
